Situated in Adair County, Kentucky, United States, Columbia is a home rule-class city that boasts a population of 4,452 (according to the 2010 census). The city is renowned for its extravagant nightlife, beautiful sightseeing locations, and high levels of educational standards. It is the seat of the Adair County and is governed by Curtis Hardwick.

There is not a lot of detail into the history of Columbia. However, according to some researchers, the area, which is now known as Columbia, was settled in 1802 by Daniel Trabue. The city’s first post office was established by John Field on April 1, 1806 and since then has progressed significantly fast-forwarding to now.

The city is famed for its wide array of unique events, occasions, and culture. Among them is the famous Downtown Days – a two-day festival that is hosted none other than on the streets of downtown Columbia. People from all over different states and cities visit Columbia to participate in the event, which includes a choirs, clowns, food, live entertainment, inflatable toys, face painting, carnival for kids, train rides for the kids, pet show, 5-k run, beauty pageant, and a reenactment of Younger Bank of Columbia Robbery.

Columbia is also known for its high-educational standards. Since the city is a part of the Adair County Schools District, you can find Elementary Schools, Primary Schools, and Middle Schools on almost every corner. There is also a stronghold of media in the city, which includes the Adair County Community Voice, WAIN, WHVE, and the Adair Progress.
